How it works

How home window tinting works

We look at your windows, talk about the rooms that bother you, and recommend the film that does the job — heat control, privacy, frosted or safety film. We measure every window first, so the film is cut to fit each pane. Then we fit it at your home with your floors and furniture protected.

In Phoenix the rooms that suffer most have big west- and south-facing windows: living rooms, bedrooms and home offices that bake in the afternoon sun. That is where film makes the biggest difference, and we will tell you honestly if a room won’t gain much.

Films for homes

  • Heat-control film for hot, sunny rooms
  • Privacy film — clear by day from inside; at night, with lights on, people can see in
  • Frosted film for bathrooms and front doors
  • Safety and security film that holds broken glass together

What decides the price

  • How many windows, and how big they are
  • The film you choose
  • The type of glass and how easy it is to reach
  • Taking off old film, if there is any

What to tell us: the rooms or windows, rough sizes, photos if you have them, and what bothers you most — heat, glare, privacy or fading.

Most homes take a day or less; larger buildings are planned with you, after hours or in stages if that helps.

Afterwards: the film can look a little hazy for a few days while it dries. Don’t clean the windows during that time.

Questions

Home window tinting questions

Will window film make my rooms darker?

Only as much as you choose. There are light films that cut heat and glare without making a room feel dark.

Does privacy film work at night?

Reflective privacy film works one way by day. At night, with your lights on inside, people outside can see in — so we’ll talk about curtains or blinds for evenings.

Can film stop my floors and furniture fading?

Film blocks almost all UV, the main cause of fading, so it slows fading a lot. Nothing stops it completely.

Can you frost a bathroom window?

Yes. Frosted film gives privacy and still lets the light in.

Is window film only for sunny rooms?

No. Frosted film gives bathrooms and front-door glass privacy, and safety film holds broken glass together. Most homes mix them: heat-control film on the sunny side, frosted or privacy film where it’s needed.

How long does it take to cure?

Film usually looks a little hazy for a few days to a few weeks while it dries, depending on the sun. Don’t clean the windows during that time.

How do I clean my windows after tinting?

Wait until the film has cured, then use a soft cloth and a mild, ammonia-free glass cleaner. Never use a scraper or anything rough on the film.

How do I get a price for my home?

Ask for a free quote with the rooms, rough window sizes and a few photos, or call us.
